In May of 1998, Laura and her father Charles Davis, descendants of one of New London's first families, donated a conservation easement on their family homestead on scenic Route 103A. The Davis property is valuable for its excellent wildlife habitat, 1,000 feet of road frontage, and the protection if offers to the Lake Sunapee watershed. The property includes a mixture of forestlands, open fields, fruit bearing trees and bushes, and wetlands.
Their easement is the third New London property on Route 103A to come under the stewardship of the land trust. Pedestrian access and trails are allowed.
The Town of New London Conservation Commission holds an executory interest in the conservation easement.
