The Brown Family's Frazier Brook Farm--Storm of 2018

On the evening of May 4, 2018, a powerful storm front swept across NH. The most extensive damage was inflicted on a few properties in the town of Warner. Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust asked me to use my drone to assess the affect on two of the properties that the Trust is associated with. The Brown family's Frazier Brook Farm and the Courser family's Mud Pond properties had hundreds of trees that were blown over like they were matchsticks. Most of the toppled trees were full-grown pines and oaks. Nate Brown owns Frazier Brook Farm and he estimates that he will take out 3/4 million board feet of logs.

This video documents the damage. The last clip is an annotated photograph that I believe supports the notion that the damage was caused by a tornado.

All of us wish the Courser and Brown families the very best as they work to recover from the powerful forces of nature.
