On July 30, 2021 the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust (ASLPT) closed on this 5.56-acre property, adjacent to the recently-conserved 384.5-acre Sawyer Brook Headwaters property, in Grantham NH. This property, which has frontage on the Class VI section of Dunbar Hill Road, will allow for safe access to those wishing to explore the Sawyer Brook Property. The Stamper Property is mostly forested, and has several significant vernal pools, which provide breeding grounds for many amphibians. Once purchased, Ausbon Sargent worked to place a conservation easement on the land and gifted it to the Town of Grantham on January 14, 2022. It will now be managed by the Town alongside the Sawyer Brook Headwaters property.
This project was made possible through generous donations from Grantham residents and friends of the land trust, as well as grants from the Eastman Charitable Foundation and the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation.
