Grafton Rd. and Walker Brook, Wilmot

When Clayton Nowell decided to conserve his 28-acre farm in North Wilmot, friends and neighbors were happy to contribute toward the fundraising goals.  Clayton is a well-respected, longtime member of the Wilmot community.  His wonderful property has been farmed, used for maple sugaring, and managed for timber production since the late 1950’s.  Protecting this property meant protecting the scenic views along the well-traveled Grafton Road as well as the open fields, prime agricultural and forestry soils, and Walker Brook which runs along the southern border.  This property would, otherwise, be a great potential location for eventual development.  We owe thanks to a number of grantors such as the Burton D. Morgan Foundation, the Quabbin-to-Cardigan Partnership, the Wilmot Conservation Commission and many other generous donors for the success of the project.

This property has trails, maintained in part by the Wilmot Conservation Commission, and is open to the public for low-impact pedestrian recreation.

In 2023, the property was purchased by Jake Morrisette.
