The Woods Without Gile is a 500-acre woodlot, straddling the towns of Springfield and Wilmot, NH. 470 acres of the property are under conservation easement with Ausbon Sargent. Enjoy this guided walk and see the effect of timber harvests, the impact of beaver dams on the land, views of several prominent mountains, historic features including cellar holes, and much, much more! This property and its owners will be celebrated on October 1, 2022 for being the 2022 Tree Farmers of the Year recipient from the NH Tree Farm Committee. The owners of the property welcome you to explore the property before the celebration!
This hike will cover about 2.5 miles over relatively rolling terrain with a couple steeper hills. Trails are mowed and there are bridges over significant brooks. Hikers should wear laced, closed-toe footwear. Be prepared for insects, including ticks. Please bring your own water. No bathroom facilities are available.
The property entrance is located 1.5 miles off of Route 4A on a Class VI road. Carpooling is encouraged. Vehicles should have a 6" clearance. Registration is required, as space is limited. To register, please contact Kristy at: email@example.com or call 603-526-6555.
