Ausbon Sargent has the opportunity to buy a 5.65-acre property, adjacent to the recently-conserved Sawyer Brook Headwaters property, in Grantham NH. This property, which has frontage on the Class 6 section of Dunbar Hill Road, will allow for safe parking and access to those wishing to explore the Sawyer Brook Property. Parking and access aside, the Stamper Property is mostly forested, and has several significant vernal pools, which provide breeding grounds for many amphibians.
The total cost of the project, including fees for title and insurance, stewardship, hazardous waste assessment and legal review, is $75,000. To date, we have $40,000 in hand and need to raise $35,000 to close this July. After purchasing the property, Ausbon Sargent will place a conservation easement on the land and will then gift it to the Town of Grantham to be managed together with the Sawyer Brook Headwaters property.
